APC settled for indirect primary election, rules out consensus
The All Progressives Congress will choose its presidential candidate through indirect primary election
The decision was made at the 11th National Executive Committee meeting of the party, which took place at the Transcorp Hotel in Abuja.

In addition, the President, Muhammadu Buhari and other party leaders delegated decision-making authority to the APC’s National Working Committee for a period of 90 days.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State are all expected to participate in the APC Presidential primary.

Others in the APC rumoured to be eyeing the presidency include Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, and Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment. Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is also a contender.

An indirect primary election means that all card-carrying members of a political party will participate in choosing its candidates.
