APC In The Eye Of The Storm (Part 1)

While still brooding over the self infectious calamity that rocked the boat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) believed to have been caused by the inordinate gullibility of some never let go party leaders which in turn robbed the party of its right to participate in the general elections in Rivers state, making the party to lose all electoral positions even after winning everything to the opposition PDP in Zamfara state and surviving its participation right in Delta state by the whiskers, ordinarily one would have thought that the party had learned its bitter lessons through the harder way.

Surprisingly, it is really sadden and quite unfortunate for one to know that the same storm which stopped the APC boat from navigating its clear cut to a victorious end in Rivers and Zamfara states is still brewing very much stronger till date.

As the Edo and Ondo states gubernatorial election draws closer by the day, one cannot be said to be oblivious to the fact that the storm is once again gathering momentum with an unimaginable propensity. Pardon me for thinking that this situation could still be to the advantage of the party’s opponent(s) which are lurking around to feast on its spoils.

The height of of the unfolding drama is the inglorious suspension of the party’s national chairman, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole by the Edo state wing of the party and that which was sustained somehow by a federal high court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday.

No doubt this unfriendly development has cast serious aspersion in the minds of party faithful at different quarters of the federation and the tension is very high. Permit me to say that if this surreptitious trend is not properly checked and nipped in the buds with all the urgency it deserves, this could prompt the opposition parties to seek for the desolution of any APC primary relating to the gubernatorial election that is going to come up soon in Edo and Ondo states in a law court in the future and this could spell another doom for the party and its candidates in both states no matter the outcome of the election. Anyways, let us leave that for now to our team of lawyers to grapple with.

One thing is for sure! The suspension of Oshiomhole by the Abuja court in consonance with the Edo state wing of the party will be more calamitous to APC than good. Some gullible individuals are definitely at it again, they perceive Oshiomhole as a clog in the wheel of their political fortunes and are bent on pushing the entire party to a halt just because of him. They are not interested in the party or anyone else but only interested in seeing the party crumble should Oshiomhole continue to remain as the national chairman of the party. They don’t give a hoot about nothing. They are prepared to damn the consequences of their actions.

On this note I would want to call on president Muhammadu Buhari, being the number one leader of our great party and other well meaning APC leaders to intervene in this matter at hand urgently so as to avert the Rivers and Zamfara states occurrences. The earlier the better for all of us. As the saying goes, a stich in time save nine. The storm shall be over.

Thank you all and God bless.
