Maj. Gen. Chris Eze, APC Chieftain Defects
Maj.-Gen. Chris Eze (ret. ), a former ambassador of Nigeria to India, has defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Labour Party.
Eze, a resident of Enugu State’s Udenu Local Government Area, based his reason for defection on the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

This information was revealed in a letter written by him dated August 4, 2022, addressed to the Chairman of the APC in the Udunedem Ward of the Udenu LGA, and made available to newsmen on Friday in Enugu.
The party’s flag-bearers for the 2023 presidential election were nominated amid controversy, according to the retired major general, who stated that this was the reason he decided to leave the organization.
Eze, the first elected secretary of the APC in Enugu State, declared that he would join the Labour Party (LP) in order to support Mr. Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate.

Additionally, he stated that he left the APC to support the LP’s candidates for governor and senator, Messers Chijioke Edeoga and Okey Ezea, respectively.
“I am unable to support the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket in the upcoming presidential election campaign in good conscience.
“I also can’t stand how the party is run in the state in such a dictatorial way anymore.
He declared, “I think the best candidates for the presidential, gubernatorial, and Enugu North Senatorial elections, respectively, are Obi, Edeoga, and Ezea.

Eze claimed that he disagreed with the level of government in Enugu State and that the people of the state needed a platform that would improve their quality of life.
Eze expressed his gratitude to the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him the chance to appoint him as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to India.
In 2015, Eze served on the APC Presidential Campaign Committee’s Security Sub-Committee.
