APC Bayelsa disown Goodluck Jonathan, says not aware of his membership.

Dennis Otiotio, APC Bayelsa Chairman has refuted knowledge of Goodluck Jonathan being a member of the All Progressive Congress, adding that he is free to join if he chooses, Ejes Gist Newspaper reports.

In a conversation with the journalist on Tuesday, Mr. Otiotio revealed this.

He said the APC in Bayelsa was unaware of Jonathan’s membership, despite moves to push him into the 2023 presidential election.

“The former president has yet to register with the APC.”

He can join whatever political party he wants.

“We are open and willing to welcome him into our fold,” Otiotio said.

“As a political party seeking to win elections, the only way to do so is to admit people into the party.”

Goodluck Rejects APC’s presidential form

On Monday in Abuja, a support group acquired the APC presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for the former president to run for president on the APC platform in the 2023 elections.

However, in a statement issued Monday night by Mr Ikechukwu Eze, Mr Jonathan’s Media Adviser, the former president distanced himself from the move and stated that he did not authorise the purchase of the form.

Mr Jonathan was not consulted about the APC nomination in his name, according to the statement, and has rejected it.
