Former advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has stated that the country’s security situation has reached a point where anyone, regardless of social or political level, might be killed or kidnapped.

The former presidential adviser was responding to the recent assassination of an Army General by alleged bandits.

Major General Hassan Ahmed, a former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army, was assassinated in Abuja on Thursday, as  previously reported.

He was assassinated in the Abaji neighbourhood of the nation’s capital, while his sister, Safina Ahmed, was kidnapped.

According to a family source, the siblings were on their way to Okene when they were attacked.

“They opened fire on his car, and he died as a result. “They took the sister away since the driver pretended to be dead from the wound he sustained,” the informant stated.

“An emir was kidnapped last week, and a general was slain yesterday,” Reno Omokri tweeted in response to the shocking incident. Consider that for a moment. So, who is safe?

“God is our only safety net in Nigeria. Our government is incapable of protecting us because it lacks both the will and the resources to do so. In any part of Nigeria, anyone can be killed at any time!”

Senator Shehu Sani expresses shock as gunmen kill Major General Ahmed, abduct sister in Abuja.

Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has reacted to the assassination of Major General Hassan Ahmed in Abuja’s Abaji neighbourhood.

Sani voiced concern that this could happen to a top military officer in Abuja in response.

“The assassination of Major General Hassan Ahmed and the kidnapping of his wife right in Abaji, Abuja is sad, awful, and tragic,” Sani stated in a tweet.

“The fact that this could happen to a man of such stature so close to the capital city says it all. May his soul rest in peace in Aljanna firdausi. Amin.”
