Another Jailbreak Rocks Nigerian Correctional Facility.
On Thursday, security personnel foiled an attempt to break into the Maximum Correctional Centre, also known as White House, on Sapele–Benin road, Benin Edo State’s capital.
During the attacks last year, 1,993 inmates, mostly convicted criminals, were released, with the majority of them still missing.
The attackers looted and destroyed the two facilities. The white house was still being reconstructed when it was attacked again on Thursday.
However, security operatives thwarted the attempt, according to The Nation.
They blocked half of the always-bustling Sapele road beside the correctional centre, forcing many people to trek long distances.
