The Umueri International Cargo Airport project was launched by Anambra State’s visionary governor, His Excellency, Chief Willie  Obiano.

A test flight is scheduled for today, four years later, marking Air Peace’s first service at the new airport with a commercial aircraft.

The ‘Airport City Project,’ according to the governor, would be built on a 1500-acre site and include two runways, an aviation fuel plant, an aircraft maintenance facility, an airport hotel, a business park, and an international convention centre. 1200 direct and 3600 indirect jobs are projected to be created as a result of the project.

Then some construction details were revealed, including the state-of-the-art runway, which was the first of its kind in Nigeria. It will be shown today as the two test flights land on opposite sides.

The most recent fire truck has arrived at Anambra International Cargo/Passenger Airport. The extraordinary airport tower, which is equipped with artificial intelligence technology, is a one-of-a-kind landmark in and of itself. Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor (Anambra State Commissioner for Works) took the time to list other technological features that helped the airport earn the highest rating among her peers.
