Oyomesi Takes Over Control following the death of of Oyo 

The Oyomesi, which is the highest traditional council of the ancient, has taken control of the palace following the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba , in the early hours of Saturday.

Mr. Bode Durojaye, the deceased monarch’s media aide, made this known during a brief interview with journalists at the palace.

He claimed that members of the Oyomesi are currently meeting inside the palace to discuss the death of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

Traditional rites have been performed, according to the Baasamu of Oyo, High Chief Lamidi Oyewale, who added that Islamic rites would be performed by Muslim clerics.

He further said that Oba Adeyemi’s remains would be interred today at the ancient vault of Alaafin, which is located in Bara, Oyo town.
