President Buhari approves appointment of new Commandant General of NSCDC, CG Correctional Service. 

  • The appointment of Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the new commander-in-chief of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps was approved by President Muhammad Buhari (NSCDC).
  • This followed Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu’s retirement from service.
  • Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of the Interior and President of the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), congratulated the appointees.

The appointment of Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the new commander-in-chief of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), was approved by President Muhammad Buhari .
This followed Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu’s retirement from service.

The federal government said that Audi emerged “from those who went through the transparent selection process initiated by the Ministry of Interior through the Board” as the top best candidate.

Buhari has also nominated the current Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa MNI (NCoS).

In accordance with the provisions of the new Act creating the 2019 Nigerian Correctional Service, his appointment is subject to Senate approval.

Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of the Interior and President of the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), congratulated the appointees.

Aregbesola has urged them to ensure that the mission of their respective services is completely enforced.

In order to provide successful internal security services, the minister called for synergies with other agencies.
