Accept Hardship Caused by Tinubu’s Policies as Trial from God, APC Gov Tells Nigerians Amidst Nationwide Protest
Governor Namadi Advises Nigerians to Consider Economic Hardship a Divine Test.
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has urged Nigerians to view the current economic challenges as a test from God, discouraging protests as a means of expressing dissatisfaction.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Dutse on Monday, Governor Namadi addressed 27 groups, including representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). These groups have collectively distanced themselves from a planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1.

Acknowledging the significant economic pressures faced by many Nigerians, the governor emphasized that protests are not the solution. Instead, he advocated for alternative ways to express grievances, such as prayer and seeking divine intervention.
“There are many ways people could express their grievances,” Namadi stated. “People are at liberty to display their grievances through protest under democratic dispensation, but that isn’t the most effective way to address the problems. The protest alone will not provide the solutions; people should turn to God, repent, seek for forgiveness and divine intervention on the challenges.”
Governor Namadi also outlined the government’s efforts to mitigate the economic difficulties, including the distribution of food items, materials, and cash to those in need. He reminded the attendees that the federal government has approved a five-month period during which food imports will be exempt from import duties.

In a related development, Jigawa State Police Commissioner Tijjani Abdullahi issued a warning to those planning to protest. “The security agencies in the state are combat-ready to deal with anyone who wants to breach public peace and order,” Abdullahi stated.
As the nation grapples with economic adversity, Governor Namadi’s call for faith and patience stands as a poignant reminder of the diverse ways citizens can seek solace and solutions beyond the streets.
