“They opened fire on the driver and the tank as well.” The incident occurred between the stations of Dutse and Rijana. The driver struggled to get to Rigasa station in Kaduna.

“I was on board this morning when our train collided with another explosively damaged railing.” We miraculously escaped the train nearly skidding off its track.

“Until this issue is resolved, all Kaduna Abuja train operations must be halted today.”

“The attack happened last night, and we suspended operations this morning until further notice,” said an official with the Abuja-Kaduna train services, who did not want to be identified.

“As a result of the incident, people who came to book tickets were turned away.”

“We’ve also put a halt to online ticket sales while the affected section of the tracks is repaired,” says the company.

A Nigeria Railway Corporation source, on the other hand, said she was unaware of the development.

“Honestly, I am not aware of it as I speak with you,” a source told The Nation Newspaper over the phone, “but even if there is anything like that, an official statement would be issued but I have not been officially informed by management.”

“A statement will be issued once we have more information about what happened because everything is currently based on rumours.”
