Federal agents apprehended American rapper 42 Dugg after he refused to surrender to authorities to serve his six-month prison sentence.
The 27-year-old rapper refused to report to a federal prison camp in West Virginia last month to serve his sentence for illegally possessing a firearm, according to the Detroit News.

He is now facing an absconding charge and could be sentenced to up to five years in prison in connection with an incident in which he allegedly fired a weapon inside an Atlanta gun range.

Dugg was arrested in Detroit on Wednesday, May 5, after arriving on a private jet from Memphis.
“They were there to greet him when he got off the plane,” said the rapper’s lawyer, Steve Scharg.

Surveillance video from the gun range showed 42 Dugg and two others holding, loading, and firing a 9 mm Glock pistol. He is not allowed to possess firearms because he was previously convicted of carjacking and felony firearms possession.
He was also charged with felony firearm possession in March 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his lawyer was successful in keeping the rapper out of jail, and he was instead sentenced to three years of probation.
After testing positive for unspecified drugs, court officials threatened to revoke his probation, so he filed an appeal.

In February, his probation was revoked, and he was sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation.
