A Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has made a startling claim about Nigerian lawmakers and governors.
The man claimed that 40 percent of the current legislators and more than 12 governors of the state are homosexuals but are in the closet.
Maduagwu, who recently revealed that he is gay, also called on President Joe Biden of the United States to impose sanctions on the Nigerian government over the anti-gay law of 2014.
Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan signed the law and it bans all forms of gay relationships in Nigeria. The law also states that anyone caught in an act of homosexuality awaits a fourteen-year prison term.
Maduagwu, however, known through his Instagram page for attacking other actors and important personalities, asked the new US President to sanction the law of the Nigerian government.
He said, “Dear Joe Biden, President.” I am proudly gay, and I implore you to impose penalties on the government of Nigeria for its inhumane laws against law-abiding homosexuals.
In the southern part of Nigeria, this same government pampers wicked Fulani herdsmen who abduct and cause trouble.
We are tired and frightened despite the fact that in Naija (Nigeria) more than 40 percent of the current legislatures and more than 12 governors are homosexuals; why the hypocrisy? ”
