Ex-PDP Chairman Opens Up On ‘Dumping’ Party
Ahmed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State and the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) caretaker committee, on Thursday denied rumours that he intended to defect from the PDP and join the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2023 general elections (APC).
Makarfi stated in a Kaduna interview with journalists that he joined the PDP out of “principle.”
“Honestly, this is the first time I’ve heard that I’m defecting from the PDP to the APC, and I have no idea what could be the basis,” he said.
How will leaving the PDP be attractive to me?
The rumour is a creation of unemployed people’s fantasies.
“I am a devoted PDP supporter. I should be retiring from politics if I leave the PDP.
“There are known individuals who have been frolicking between the PDP and APC. As a matter of principle, I support the PDP. I’m still a member of PDP and I always will be.
