2023: Adeyanju urges Peter Obi, others to form Alliance to defeat Tinubu, Atiku

Deji Adeyanju, a human rights activist and convener of Concerned Nigerians, has advised presidential candidates Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party, and Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress to work together ahead of the 2023 elections.

He believes Obi, Kwankwaso, Sowore, and other politicians should form an alliance to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which are fielding Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, respectively.

Adeyanju stated that defeating Tinubu and Atiku will be a Herculean task unless Obi, Kwankwaso, Sowore, and others work together.

He also pointed out that elections are won in villages, not cities, and that aspiring politicians should swallow their pride and work together.

On Monday, Adeyanju, who has also emphasized the importance of grassroots political structures, said these on Twitter.

“There’s no way Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, Sowore, and other politicians can defeat the APC and PDP if they don’t work together because elections are won in rural areas, not urban areas,” he wrote on Twitter.

Politicians must learn to put their pride aside and work together.

“The APC and PDP will continue to humble egoistic political actors because I must be president at all costs.” In the best interests of Nigerians, embrace the truth and work together.”
