2018 BUDGET: URHOBO NATION AND THEIR EXPECTATIONS

0

With the presentation of the 2018 budget entitled; Consolidation Budget in the National Assembly by president Muhammed Buhari, the Urhobos in Delta Central should be hopeful that the input of our Senator, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege will impact all communities across the 8 Local Government Areas of the senatorial district.
Agege has distinguished himself in the past one year where he ensured that all the projects that was influenced to the Urhobo nation were in the intervention projects and so, the closing of the 2017 budgetary year will have no effects on projects meant for the growth and develolment of the people. "In this people oriented projects we are placing 50,000 gallon of water tanks in about 10 communities and we are lighting up our communities. This will also continue in the 2018 budgeting year and more not forgetting the hospital equipment we are bringing to boost medical care in the senatorial district".
Senator Omo-Agege stated during a recent media chat that he is expecting increase in allocation to regional intervention bodies and organisations, such as the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Niger Delta Ministry and the Amnesty program. This was confirmed recently with the budget presentation by the President. That shows the type of representation Urhobo have with Senator Omo-Agege. He is speculative and plans ahead. With this increase, there is room to increase government projects in our senatorial district. Imagine the 2017 projects concurrently going on with the 2018 projects? a lot of things will be happening in Delta Central.
From the president's speech and from my own findings, work have started at the Itakpe – warri Rail line at the Okpara – Ovu area of the project, we are expecting the completion of the project soon. In the same vein, rehabilitation work has started in the Sapele–Agbor road project, remember the senator influence the project to our senatorial zone because of the bad nature of the road in the zone.
While I may not be able to specifically point projects in this budget for us because it is still in the amendment process, I am very hopeful and I want us to remain hopeful that the 2018 projects will be way more and better than the 2017 projects. The senator has said so and he has proven not to be a noise maker but a worker for his people. Let us support him and pray for him for the overall good of our Urhobo nation.
