200 Level Student Commits

Feranmi Fasunle Omowunmi, a student at Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko, Ondo state, committed suicide, according to reports.

Omowunmi, who was a student in the university’s Political Science Department and had the matriculation number 180503006, allegedly took a hazardous substance on Wednesday.

Her motives remained unclear, although sources speculated that it was related to a failed relationship.

Her colleagues, on the other hand, denied that she had been in a relationship since her acceptance to the university.

It was discovered that she took the lethal substance in her Akungba community bed.

According to sources at the institution, her friends discovered it and rushed her to the institution’s health centre, from where she was transferred to the Specialist Hospital in Kare.

On Wednesday, she was referred to the Federal Medical Center FMC in Owo.

One of her professors, who talked to reporters in confidence, described the incident as unfortunate.

She died this morning at the FMC in Owo, just as she was about to be referred to the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state.

He was said to have accompanied her to the FMC with his parents.

When contacted, Victor Akinpelumi, the Head of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations, told reporters, “I can confirm that the incident occurred, but the reason for her decision is still sketchy, as none of her close friends and colleagues could state the reason for her decision.”
