Akyem Oda: 10 Injured, Hundreds Of Buildings Ripped Off By Violent Rainstorm



    At least ten (10) individuals are injured at Akyem Oda in Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region throughout a violent rainstorm that struck the Community on Monday.

    Hundreds of buildings together with homes, church buildings, colleges, and retailers had been ripped off. Ateffuah Senior High School was enormously affected by the storm.

    Many classroom blocks at Ateffuah SHS have been ripped off.


    Also, electrical energy poles, billboards, Radio mast locally had been toppled over.


    Hundreds of residents have been displaced because of this.

    The Birim Central Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) David Okyere has described the scenario as “devastating and requires pressing consideration of the central authorities “.

    (10) to him, the Organization has dispatched its personnel to evaluate the extent of damages attributable to the rainstorm catastrophe for quantification of destruction and wishes evaluation.


    The injured victims in addition to some college students of Attefuah Senior High School who had been traumatized had been handled and discharged on the Oda Government Hospital.

    Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency and his entourage are this morning visiting a number of the affected residents to allow him to increase emergency help to the victims.
