10 feared dead as pipeline explodes in Rivers

ABOUT ten individuals are feared dead in Oyibo Local Government Area of Rivers State following an explosion in a pipeline in the realm.

The incident reportedly occurred in Kom Kom group of the LGA, about noon yesterday. Sources near the scene mentioned the explosion sparked off fireplace which supposedly burnt the victims.

Speaking to The Nation on a phone interview yesterday, the spokesman of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), mentioned, ‘It is true that there was pipeline explosion in Kom Kom space of Oyibo LGA, however we can not verify the variety of casualties now, however our males are there to calm the scenario and do the need.”
